If Scott Morrison, president and founder of 3×1 denim, has anything to do with it, the denim industry is going to keep its magic. While the sector is booming, going mass has meant a little loss of culture from the category, that love for denim that manifests among true bluebloods. But Morrison and 3×1 still have that love. The label has become a cult favorite and doing denim drops is one way it’s kept up the excitement—both for the brand and its customers—as 3×1 releases new limited-edition styles each month.

Reformation Brings Transformation to the Denim Industry

Reformation, a brand that has made sourcing sustainable fabrics and reducing environmental impact its mission, has brought the same approach to its denim, tapping TENCEL™ Lyocell to help it get there. The Los Angeles-based brand uses vintage and deadstock fabric for some of its denim, adding it to fashion forward styles that consumers are keen to buy and feel good about wearing. Reformation will be front and center and Denim Days Sept. 22-23, showcasing how sustainability and fashion can coexist.

New York Denim Days Underscores Denim’s Sustainable Future

The second edition of New York Denim Days this weekend served strong denim style with a side of education about the industry’s progress toward sustainability. The two-day shopping festival kicked off Saturday with an indoor market at the Metropolitan Pavilion, where brands like Mavi and Hudson customized jean jackets and a denim curiosity shop sold gems like denim-themed jewelry and indigo home goods.
