Everyone judges the softness of a fiber differently. We wanted to know how visitors at the Première Vision and Texworld tradeshows in Paris assess the softness of Lenzing fibers so we conducted a softness test with five different fabrics. The fabrics were labelled from A-E and were rated by feeling only and then awarded grades from 1-10. The touch test criteria included the softness, warmth, and flexibility of the test fabrics. According to 151 evaluations, MicroModal® was the softness winner with an average of 8.7 points out of 10, followed closely by Lenzing Modal® with 7.6 points. The invitation to “Please touch and rate” was greeted with enthusiasm by visitors to the booths.
Babette Sperling has given her bachelor collection the eye-catching name of “Surround Sense”. The designer describes her work as follows: a bachelor collection which draws its inspiration from “sentimental” t-shirts. It creates clothing using emotional design work techniques which have the potential to create an emotional and sustained value as a result of strong consumer loyalty. The fabrics were made entirely of natural materials using innovative processes, thus creating a sustained and sensitive fashion collection in opposition to the fast fashion movement. TENCEL® is part of this collection which was sponsored by Lenzing AG.
