Saint Basics is a Dutch company that practices sustainability in whatever it does. The lingerie is free of pesticides, environmental pollution, sweatshops, and worker exploitation. However, that is not all. It also looks fantastic and is made of TENCEL® fabrics which feel great. In 2015, the lingerie label was awarded “The Greenest Fashion Brand in the Netherlands”. At the independent consumer rating site, Rank a Brand, Saint Basics is the only brand with an A-label for sustainability in the ”fashion, clothing and shoes” category.
Lenzing is partnering with the High School of Art and Design (HSAD) for their 2015-2016 school project, Sustainable Product Development in the Fashion Industry. For the project, the students learn about sustainable materials and processes in fashion and create a sustainable fashion line for the Spring 2016 show. The project is sponsored by CFDA, Lenzing Fibers, Brooklyn Fashion + Design Accelerator, Limitless La Vie, and Underfashion Club. Over 125 students are involved across the 10th-12th grades (15-18 year olds). This project helps support the next generation of designers and highlights the possibilities in eco-fashion. All the textiles were generously donated by USA mill partners SG Knits, Texollini, Britannia Mills Ltd., Zen Tex, and Sextet Fabrics.
More and more, people are troubled by sensitive skin. Environmental pollution and an upsurge in allergies have led to increased interest in alternatives to conventional materials. The addition of TENCEL® with its skin friendly properties helps to alleviate skin irritation. TENCEL® bed linens are particularly cool to the touch and soft on skin. All products from “MISS PRINCESS AND LITTLE FROG” are designed in Belgium and made in Europe with a guarantee of high quality that is readily apparent in the design and manufacture.
