Here at Lenzing, we are committed to circularity as a means of reducing the environmental impact of fashion. To further this aim, Lenzing has joined the Dutch Denim Deal, a public-private initiative that intends to accelerate sustainability and recycling in the industry.
Sustainability has become a ubiquitous topic in fashion today, but it wasn’t always. One of the pioneers to envision an improved industry was entrepreneur Marci Zaroff. Marci originated and trademarked the term “ecofashion” in 1995. In the mid-‘90s, she also discovered TENCEL™ fibers and began using them in her collections. During the most recent episode of our Blue Cast podcast series commemorating our 30th anniversary, Marci shared her earliest memories of TENCEL™ and spoke about her sustainable work in the industry.
After decades working in denim and fashion for retailers and labels like Wrangler, H&M, C&A and more, David Tring is charting a new course. Earlier this year, he retired from Lee Jeans and launched The Magic of Denim Consultancy. He is also partnering with universities to share his denim knowledge with students….
Since TENCEL™’s launch 30 years ago, the fiber brand has prioritized providing solutions for the fashion industry’s needs. Today, companies’ challenges largely revolve around sustainability—including climate change, water consumption, chemicals and material use. As Caroline Ledl, head of product management at Lenzing, explained.
My name is Mohsin Sajid, and I run a denim design consultancy called Endrime based in the U.K. with my wife Sadia Rafique. Like any design team, we need constant inspiration to keep things fresh for each collection we design or video we direct. In the past, we have travelled to Japan, and all over Asia each season. But we have not travelled as much to the denim pilgrimage spots across the USA.
