How Much Water Are You Wearing?
That’s the question that Triarchy Denim asks fashionistas. It takes around 2,900 gallons of water to make a pair of traditional cotton jeans, and Triarchy is setting out to save water and resources by reconstructing, reimagining and reinventing denim from recycled materials and high-end trims.
Adam Taubenfligel, the creative director for Triarchy, will be attending New York Denim Days for the first time this summer, and he’s looking forward to bringing Triarchy’s one-of-a-kind styles to the festival. Here’s what Adam is most excited about at NYDD, just around the corner on June 8th and 9th.
Through every step of production, Mavi’s team has control of the design, manufacture and sale of its beautiful, classic denim. The Istanbul-based brand will be present at New York Denim Days in a big way, so the Carved in Blue team spoke with marketing manager Alissa Friedman.
This is our third time at Denim Days and we wanted to support our partnership with TENCEL™ Denim this go around, specifically our SuperSoft collection. Made with the revolutionary TENCEL™ Lyocell fiber, SuperSoft is designed for superior comfort and ease of movement, and features a luxuriously smooth, ultra-soft denim that retains a flawless silhouette and perfect fit.
When denim experts hear the name Marta Goldschmied, they think “bad”—not bad in the literal sense, but in attitude; Marta’s Instagram titles her the “Bad Gal of Denim” and a quick scroll-through proves it’s true. Her latest collection, GARBAGE By Marta Goldschmied, definitely fits the bill, in body-hugging metallics with plenty of zippers and hardware. The Carved in Blue team can’t wait to take a look up close at New York Denim Days, but until then, we spoke to Marta about what she’s most looking forward to at the festival.
The countdown to New York Denim Days has begun, and while denimheads across the city are eagerly awaiting the festival, perhaps no one is more excited than the brands that are showcasing their newest styles and technology at the event. Carved in Blue spoke with Paige Horton, community coordinator at Athleta Flatiron, about what the brand is bringing to Denim Days and the story Athleta is telling with TENCEL™ Lyocell fibers.
Those who have attended New York Denim Days already know the shopping, events and community are to die for. Aydan Tuzun, head of global sales and marketing at Naveena, is one such person. Here’s what she’s most looking forward to at this year’s festival, right around the corner in June. And check out what the mill will bring to the table at the fest, and which events you’ll be able to spot Aydan and her team participating in.
