TENCEL® and Wool: Combination of Performance and Luxury

Wool has long been established as a desirable material for fibers and has always been used as a raw material in clothing and home textiles.

TENCEL® Yarns

Lenzing surprised everyone with Live Demos at PV Yarns

At Première Vision Yarns, which takes place every year in February, Lenzing came up with something really special. For the first time, knitting was carried out live at the Lenzing booth true to the theme “Pure natural luxury – TENCEL®/wool”. We found the appropriate yarn for this at the Schachenmayr company who use a yarn of 68% virgin wool and 32% Lyocell. Live at Lenzing's trade booth, the softness of different fabrics was measured using the Tissue Smoothness Analyzer (TSA). The difference between TENCEL® and wool was tested, among other things. These tests were performed by our technical partner, Emtec Electronic GmbH.

TENCEL® BIOSOFT-Fibers won the prestigious “Product of the Year” SOCIETY Award

The award for “Product of the Year” is the greatest accolade for innovative products to be awarded by consumers. Each year “Product of the Year” accepts applications from the packaged goods sector for products that are innovative and were launched on the market in the past year. Lenzing and TOSAMA jointly developed hygiene products of TENCEL® BIOSOFT-fibers. The product collection was launched under the brand name of JASMIN SPORT and features four different product types: panty liners for women and unisex pads for dancing, cycling, and volleyball. Due to their excellent moisture absorption properties, the products are suitable in particular for sweat-inducing activities. During the product presentation, the TENCEL® BIOSOFT-fibers were presented as particularly soft fibers that feel pleasant on the skin. In the "care product" category, TOSAMA received second prize as “Product of the Year” for the innovative JASMIN SPORT swim tampons brand made out of Lenzing Fibers.
